Kialla Play Therapy is a compassionate and person-centred counselling service dedicated to supporting the emotional wellbeing of children and young people age 0-18 years and their families. Grounded in the principles of play-based therapy, we provide a safe and nurturing space where children and young people can express themselves, process their emotions, and build resilience through playful interaction.
Our Services
Over time, we’ve designed and adapted our service to meet the high standards of today’s world of child and family mental health wellbeing and support incorporating evidence-based and intuitive approaches.

By providing a nurturing environment, we make sure each child and young person receives exactly what they need.

Sessions are 45 minutes each and we accept referrals for 6+ Sessions.
You can expect to receive some strategies or activities to practice at home in between sessions.

Prices start from $150 per session. Please enquire or submit a referral for a quote based on your family's needs.

Meet Tahna
Tahna is originally from Kialla and has lived and worked with families all over the world for 20 years. Now returned home to the GV, Tahna offers parents her expertise in understanding children from ages 0-18 years and her guidance with family communication and behaviour change. Tahna holds a Diploma of Children's Services (Early Childhood Education and Care), a Diploma of Postnatal Practice, a Business Degree, a Post-Graduate Certificate in Social Science (Children and Family Studies), and is working towards a Master of Applied Mental Health Studies (Perinatal and Infant Specialisation). Tahna is an accredited Circle of Security Parenting Program Facilitator and a certified Parenting Under Pressure Therapist. Tahna also administers the Newborn Behavioural Observation System for infants. Tahna is a Certified Humanistic Play Therapist and Certified Interplay Family Therapy Practitioner.

Tahna has a Working With Children Check and is a member of the Australian Counselling Association - R81096, the International Institute of Contemporary Therapists - AU3083496898, the Australian Association of Infant Mental Health, and the Australian and New Zealand Mental Health Association.
